Click herewhat finally slapped me in the groin
was the travel of your hips
toward the bar, which I saw as if
you'd been spread on a photographic plate
and smacked with some huge charge
because your aura glowed red
as a five-alarm blaze
and not even Nina Kulagina
could have gotten a cold read off you
that night, anyway
thank god more skin than just my fingertips
got scorched
I am amazed that someone remembers Kirlian photography and Nina Kulagina after four decades have passed since this research.
it was either submitted or posted on the forum? Anyway it's an utterly swoony combination of smart and sexy, smart serving to fan the blazes. It's just long enough to provide the snapshot, which is sort of the point imo. And the sonic payback from "Nina Kulagina" is terrific. You sure know some esoteric stuff there, buddy. :-)
"five alarm blaze" I dunno cause it makes me think of banal commercials for chili whatever but maybe that's my dumb pop culture bleeding into your poem.
Anyway welcome home. It's very good to have you back. Very good.
From title to finish neat and precise as with pretty much everything I have read of yours :-)
Thanks for the comment. The title refers to Kirlian photography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirlian_photography).
