I live where no light shines -
in basements and closets,
in closed door garages,
in midnight gardens,
and backyard corners,
in lugubrious bars and
the backseat of cars.
In sun or when lights are on
my soul is shadowed,
my mind inky black.
Men keep me tucked
in recesses of their brains
for fear of attack,
hidden in their secret lives
and cached in their hard drives.
I skulk about, I slither.
I go down into deep holes.
I wander the underground
and consort with demons there.
I live where darkness reigns.

We all have a dark side, some more dark than others.
