Her fingertips explored the fine vellum of the paper in the journal. It felt warm and as she read the words Brian had inscribed she could imagine him at his desk. Composing --

Your mind is what explores
With fresh imagination
It examines our being.

I hear you wondering
Aloud as your musings
Discover what I know.
You
Treasured
Of everything in my world.
Would that I can share that,
World.

Your heart is what brightens,
Encompassing in its warmth,
It opens your soul.

Lindsay almost died when she heard the door open and looked up to see Brian there. He walked to stand in front of her and saw what she'd been reading.

"There's more Lindsay, I just haven't had a moment, since your birthday party, yesterday, to write it in. I want it to be ready for tomorrow, Valentine's Day ..." He lifted the journal from her lap and took her right hand, leading her to his desk. He sat and when she made move to escape, pulled her onto his knee.

"Brian, I can explain ..."

"Don't even try, Lindsay."

She watched him as he penned a plea.

I sense you seeking
Amongst today's possiblies,
Please find my arms,
Strong
Willing
To hold you in my adoration.
Would that I can share that,
Adoration.

Your soul is what fulfills,
Satisfy my spirit
Let it shine through your eyes.

He set the pen down and wrapped her in his arms. She felt his sigh on her skin and murmured to him, "Brian?"

"Hmm? Yes?"

"The poem still isn't finished."

He straightened and loosened his hold on her, as she moved to look at him. "Finish it, then, Lindsay. I think you know how I feel. You realize how many times I've poured my heart onto this paper ..." he flipped the pages and she could see where he'd cut others from the book. Only now did she notice a match in paper with that on which the letters had been written, "Finish the poem, now, and show me how you feel."

She nodded. With a steadying breath she took up the pen and wrote her addition.

Lonely and horney older guy looking for sex

Such a soft, elegant style of writing belongs to one exposed to an older lover. Tenderness abundant and appreciative of true love. Keep it up.
