This is something that I know
the smell the feel of wood
where to cut, and shape
a thing of beauty.

This pine board has lived
a purpose cut short
I hold waning life in my hands.

I want to carve your stories
and display them for the
generations, but that
is not to be today.

Today you will become
a shelf, made for utility
not for art.
But I made you
and so you are my art.

I miss you Boo

and your take on simple things. So often poetry is made to seem lofty, like it wasn't meant for regular people like us. But your poetry is and always was real and beautiful, like you. I hope Heaven suits you Dear Lady.
