34 year-old husband to Clara who is 31 and who has having a secret affair with her boss, Keith, since about March 2018. Keith is 56 and is the head of her department at a well known university. He is a womaniser and is said to have bedded at least half the women in the department. Clara, being the oldest and the only married woman in that department, I assumed to be safe from his lecherous reaches but it appears after about three years of his persistence she has finally succumbed. He bought her expensive lingerie as a Christmas present in December 2017 which she kept hidden from me (I discovered the box at the back of her wardrobe - and, later, the items themselves stuffed into the leg of her track suit bottoms). When, in March 2018 he took her with him on a "conference" trip to Boston she took the lingerie with her (it disappeared from its hiding place the day before she left, and reappeared the day after she got back). 2023 Update. Keith was transferred to Hong Kong in December 2019 and Clara hasn’t seen him since. Like all couples we had our challenges during lockdown but we emerged stronger and with the understanding that Clara can date other men provided she lets me know. From about the early summer of 2022 that has been our relationship. It is working OK, but I am the first to admit there are things about it I find difficult and others I find great.
