About: Hi! My name is Kayla. I am a Linguist with skills in leadership, sales, marketing, copywriting, and content creation. I have experience managing large amounts of data, successfully multitasking between tedious admin work while maintaining excellent team and customer relationships, as well as a passion for content creation. My “why” comes from a desire to connect with people through creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. If I can spark even a little inspiration and joy in those my work reaches, it is an accomplishment well worth it. But why stop there? ??I want to help grow any company I am a part of, displaying fresh ideas and skills from a variety of backgrounds, and contributing a unique energy, hunger for personal growth, and drive for mutual success.?? Over the years and through many life experiences; from growing up with an immigrant Father who joined the U.S. Air Force and built a life for his family without a college degree, to also being raised by a Mother who began working hard at 15 and was fully independent by 18, who taught be everything from sewing to cooking, to being courageous and loving sci-fi— I recognized the importance in a career that promotes positive and fruitful company culture that is well-balanced, profitable, and altruistic. I believe that whatever happens within a company equivalently impacts the society it touches. Apple Inc. was a strong influence that I aligned with and greatly thrived within, promoting integrity, creativity, and human responsibility— standards I carry with me into everything I do. ??I have a B.A. in Linguistics from UT Austin, which gave me strong analytical skills and a unique understanding of human communication. I thrive when I have the ability to remain social, and maintain my creativity and curiosity while employing problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.?? Recently, I was a Marketing Coordinator for PlanetART. I owned and managed all inter-company marketing activities, acting as the liaison between the VP of Marketing and E-Commerce, the Marketing Manager (SEO/SEM) and the Creative Team. I thrived being busy with a myriad of tasks, often finding more to learn when I ran out, but always made time to build healthy relationships with my coworkers. ??Currently, I have been picking up contract work in copywriting, marketing, and branding. However, I am always looking to grow into new skills and industries with an interdisciplinary mindset. After all, we as humans are strongest in our diversity and unity. So why shouldn’t passion be the same?
