A Courageous Man - Dante's Inferno

They hurt him in so many ways,
Life-long pain is the end result.
A survivor, they took his innocence.
The war waged, the battle has been fought.

With unending pursuit of the truth,
Is how his war was finally won.
Please don't accept any of the blame,
Or this battle will never, ever end.

The horrible men who hurt so many,
The despicable acts they did to you
And to those precious ones who gave them their trust,
Is where the blame should be.

Bravo for fighting for yourself and others,
Now the judge will punish those who tried to ruin you.
And the countless lives of those who were so pure of heart,
For the outrage and the terror they had to consume.

If there is a God, may they never see his face.
If there is a Heaven, may they be denied entry.
If there is a Devil, then he's already introduced himself to them.
If there is a Hell, may they all burn forever in eternity.
