It was about you, you see, you and me,
It was so wonderous, marvelous and grand,
For you came to me, and gave me your hand,
I did not have to try make myself look better,
Do more than usual to make you care,
All I had to do was be myself.
The me you've seen,
The me I've been,
The I that has tried to make this world your heaven.
That was enough, for me to be me.
Forever and a day,
I heard you say,
Not three weeks, nor even a year,
No reason in my dream to shed a single tear.
I was just good enough as myself.
Good enough for you, good enough for me,
Good enough for us, just you and me.
'twas only a dream though
So when I woke I wept.
