Afterwards,
she lay on the bed, staring out
through the large south-facing window
sharing vaguely lucid thoughts with herself.
Looking up at the trees,
towering over the house,
for the very first time,
she noticed the laurels, oaks, firs
and the tall pines;

Each high branch
waved insistently in the breeze;
a few green leaves detached themselves,
drifting achingly, slowly to the soil.
And the wind chimes outside
made a sweet, melodic sound:
a nice accompaniment,
to the steaming rush of hot water
from the shower.

Nice post-coital poem. It didn't hit me over the head like most do.

Captures a moment

I like this - the detail really puts the reader at the scene.
