He thought a touch of jealousy might warm
A heart; but it grows sickly, now the gaze
Of others drinks her in; and makes him form
Opinions, which just linger; let him raise
The thought that she should shield herself from eyes,
Trespassing with such candour: ugly gems
Coolly assail her throat, but won't disguise
Or divert loveliness and gentlemen;

He would not have her gorgeous form attract
All these extensive glances, that are cast
Ensuring amours (undeclared) detract
And render her a spectre from his past;
So there's the craw that surely will be stuck
To leave him jilted and a jealous fuck.
