Accelerate

From the resting still of steadfast
Inertia is overcome and movement begins
Building momentum one erg at a time
Speed grows and wind is generated

Inertia now an ally in increasing
Acceleration grows and multiplies
Air is forced away and around and through
Drag becoming greater and greater

Heat begins to bloom and spread
Roaring and rushing air thunders about
Screaming through the pressure it builds
The heavy force trying to limit the speed

Air igniting across the skin that glows
Velocity climbing faster and faster and faster
Void of atmosphere behind filled with fire
Booming crash left in the wake of flame and smoke

Moving fast enough to alter gravitation
Putting a slight bend in time perceived
Gaining weight through force of movement
Pulling on everything passed in course

Doppler wave a mockery of observation
Sound far behind its cause and creation
Air ahead rippled and burned long before it's met
Mass magnified and expanding faster

Light beginning to slur and derange
Photons coming into focus as their speeds approach
Weight and shape now as pointless as reference
Perfection achieved as speed is met in full
