I was down and out, life on the skids,
Searchin for the man, feeling like a kid
Drunk off my ass, low all the time,
Couldn’t find peace, was loosin my mind
Time was taken too long, life wasn't livin,
Didn't care who I took from, my heart wasn't givin

God I was a mess.............

Till I picked up that phone, made the call
Heard the sweetest voice that changed it all

She was an Angel on the line,
A love that soon would bind
She was the knot........at the end of my rope,
That gave me strength, gave me hope
My Angel on the Line.........

She took me in, loved me sweet,
Never let me quit, there was no retreat
She knew hard times were to come,
But still made me her number one

Sometimes I still don't know why.....

Now many years have passed,
Some said it wouldn't last
Mistakes I've made, her heart was weighed
But my woman, My Angel still loved me...........
A perfect home, a heart that's grown
She saved my soul, she saved my life,
All because I called that night

She is my Angel on the line,
Since that day my life has shined
Still that knot on the end of my rope
She's my strength, she’s my hope

My Angel on the Line...
My Angel on the Line...
Angel on the Line

Tribute

This poignant rendering ~ a moving tribute to people who work the crisis hot line. They are Angels indeed.

Could be read a number of ways;

I'll go with the hot-line call that saved your life.
