So sorry y’all
I haven’t been here
As often as I’d like
Work and worry
Piles and piles
Of the endless
And returning
To wherever home is today
Only to sleep and rise again
Rinse lather and repeat
Freeform dreaming daydreams of freedom
While waiting for that check to come in
Off a slow boat to china
Just know in my heart
I’d rather be here with you

Apollo so often gets credit
For Helios cares of the day
Truth be told he could care less
Timeless in his ofty lofty way

So the laurel god goes and goes
And his spiteful sister too
Noone knows their real age
Or just not saying if they do

The apollonian clock keeps poor time
With minutes and moments carved from the heart
I find them where I can
Folded kisses and memories
Sent off to you
Hopes that they will carry you
To higher highs
And lesser lows
Thanks to you
Taking an offered time
And sharing it between us

Perhaps it's not the gods who're working in mysterious ways...
