But what if
Toes over the edge of dark
Hanging out of the sheets
Silhouetted so clear from below
For waiting claws and teeth

The outside chance
Behind the mirror the camera sits
To watch and record to judge
Every moment and all the flaws
Never a secret there after all

Under the skin
Growing waiting soon to hatch
To chew their way out to surface
Legs tickling and ticking light
As they surge out in a flood of chitin

They must talk
All of them when out of earshot
Out of the room or in another office
He can't be that stupid; she's such a boor
The eyes always the eyes watching so bright

Alone after all
Or is it just that it seems that way
Is there the sound of another breathing
The slight rasp of throat or just the night
A shift on the carpet or just a settling board

But what if
The world conspiring just beyond my senses
Past the bare edge of my straining mind
Or are we all actually at face value alone
That laughably innocent simple ideal

What if

What if

The world conspirin' just beyond my senses

Past the bare edge of my strainin' mind ......

Persecution complex or plain dementia has plagued mankind for centuries here etched out in painfully sharp detail : 5-ed

Paranoia is an old friend of mine as well. Often hard to judge what others are thinking when our thoughts are so tainted with ourselves.

Was wondering where you went

consistently powerful writing, you capture the paranoia of thought well in this piece,
