I can see tomorrow
In the path of yesterday
The future is just a resting place
To be passed along the way
The day after the next one brings a certain insecurity
Just as fortune cookies and crystal balls
Portend to what's to be

Through the years and dust and time
I've spent my days and wasted nights
There was a girl that I used to see
She would smile when she looked at me
She had golden hair that would tangle if there was a breeze
She had the bluest eyes you could ever see
I should have tried to make her stay
But like all good dreams she faded away

In this time, and day and age
I bind my heart to suppress my rage
I've cried at night with white hot tears
I've heard my cries fall on silent ears
The seasons change and and the world turns
Planets collide and my lessons learned
Sinners cry to heaven and missions burn
