The Darkness wants the light.
It stalks it.
Chases it.
Consumes it.

Only for a few hours does he win.
Then in a moment,
the Light turns.
Smiles.
Reflects the heat of the day.

She swallows the dark.
Tastes it.
Devours it.
Absorbs it.

Together they dance.
Tease and pull.
He is bigger.
Stronger.
Wiser.

Yet . . .

She is Light.
Forgiving.
Kind.
Compassionate.

So she waits.
Soon she will turn,
and once more,
the Darkness will
consume her.

Permit me to congratulate you on the extent to which your poetry writing has matured. I remember when you first started posting your poems and how they'd need some tweaking; mostly to fix either some element of rhythm or rhyme. Now look at you ~ experimenting with different ways of expressing yourself, you've truly grown your wings and have learned to fly. Keep 'em coming.

Well developed

metaphor. Good imagery and rhythm, too. Mentioned in today's new poem reviews
