A sad, sorrowful aura surrounds you
The deep look of loss in your eyes
Belies
The hopes your lips give words to.

The occasional smile which lights your face
Is to often replaced
By a shadow of emptiness

Your confidence has crumbled
Boldness and cockiness humbled
By the uncertainty of that
Which lies ahead of you

If my words could give you strength
I would fill your ears
If my arms could give you shelter
I would wrap them around you
And never let go
If my kisses could give you back
Your hope and joy
I’d be kissing you now

But this is a path you must walk alone
Into the unknown
And all I can do is give you a hug and best wishes
And hope you find what you are searching for.
