It snowed today.
I walked out in stocking feet
Felt the burn of it between my toes
Held a pinch of frozen water between my fingers
And wondered
Does it snow in heaven?

I couldn't help but think
Could this be the last time I will feel snow?
In springtime, will that be the last time I will see wild flowers
Pushing up from the dirt?

Will that be the last time I see a persons face
When we turn and walk away from one another.
Will the memory of that remain with me,
Will the sound of their voice?

Will I recall the feel of the wind against my face?
The caressing warmth of the sun as I peer into the sky.
Will that majestic blue, the soft fluffy clouds floating by
Be the last I will ever see?
Or will I become part of them?

Do we take the time to realize?
That last hug from a friend might not come again.
Or that final passionate kiss,
The words I'm sorry, or I love you.

Bird song, or the stink of skunk along side the road
Which ones will I never hear, smell or see again?
Which are the last times for remembering.
Will there be a few more tomorrows
Or has the last candle been lit?

Still wonder
Will it snow in heaven?

Reaching out ...

to touch the heavens,

with words of wonderment

firmly planted

to teach

or be taught

what/who is important to you?

Very endearing and heartfelt.

Wishing you love,

happiness

and above all ... peace

this holiday season~

live

Evocative and deep ~ a bit on the moody side. Best reason I can think of for living for today.
