does it hurt
to shed your leaves

every time the wind blows
more and more let go

traditions old as time
rule the path we climb

if you could keep them
is that what you would do

never experience the fall
colors of death and all

the spring will arrive my dear
question is will you still be here

the rain of leaves continue
harbinger of darkness in queue
