Forever My Love

My heart is gone, but it no longer matters
When you passed away it was torn into tatters
My love for you is not now nor ever dead
Nor are you only with me in my head,
My body, heart and soul
Without you are not whole.

"It takes time" people say
"It'll get better one day"
The pain hasn't lessened yet
It won't go away I'll bet.

We had so little time together
But even if we had forever
It wouldn't be time enough
To show you how true is my love.

I feel you beside me night and day
Holding me as in our bed I lay
The tears still come, pouring down my face
As I see reminders of you in our place.

You showed me only true devotion
And every pure, sweet emotion
You took my shattered heart and made it whole
And making you happy way my only goal.

A promise to you this day I make,
That never will another our love take.
