She started Hello
then used my name
and I knew
my reality
would never be the same
Usually it was "honey"
or "darling" or "lover"
followed by how
"there will never be another"
No purrs or growls
or moans of lust,
just this,
"We are over", not even
a farewell kiss
the line went dead
so much left unsaid
my mind went blank
my heart grew numb
my chest heaved
I started to cry
she had gone without even
a simple "Goodbye"
