And if there was a change?
A shift to the helping hand?
Would it be so very strange?
It is what we wish for after all

A common goal can’t be so impossible

And if we could lay aside hate?
An embrace of tolerance for all?
Would peace follow the new slate?
A fresh start without fear or greed

A generation of giving wouldn’t be far off

And if trust was given so open?
An assumed justification inherent?
Would it be held a virtuous omen?
The implied faith in the others around

A work of worldwide goodwill in hand

And if it was more than just an if?
