It has been some time and I am still here.
Did you think like the others I would go?
It will be some time more before you know
How much you have meant and how you are dear.

Asking for little I stand by your side,
Giving with nothing expected from you.
Offering friendship is all I can do
Because it is all that you will abide.

Off in the distance the end will draw near
For such as I who have so many years,
But you will be there through all of the tears
Giving as much as you can without fear.

Today and tomorrow we pass through life
With our hopes and dreams and love we shall share,
Smelling the roses and breathing the air
Until our lives have been passed with due strife.

You are still younger and living your dream
Of love to come and the heart to be filled,
With dancing and giggling your fears are stilled
By the faith that I stayed without a scheme.

Our meeting was blesséd, it must be clear
To you and me as we still remain close,
Friends we will stay, forgo being morose
When I pass beyond know that I am here.
