I bury myself
deep to the inside
bedded sheet to sheet
That you have left me in
pillows still remembers you
telling me in confidence
you were no dream
at least for now
I breathe in deep
so your smells
fill my lungs
my deepest embrace
small pieces of you
inside me insides
so close to my heart
please let them stay
its all I have
all that remains
as our time falls away
ruminating reminates
hardly big enough to cover
the relics of the past
angry angstroms and atoms
elements of love and lore
here's a piece that does
and one that doesn't
fallen faded petals
from a bed of roses
we planted here long ago
we left unattended
grew wild weeded and overgrown
now barely recognizable
as a civilized place
were a man and woman
could rest in peace
