twelveooneover 10 years agoyou do a lot of things right, but you do have a real tendency to go off with bad ideas, in America there is a phrase 'running with scissors' i.e. don't, walk, sit down and use the scissors. Think, edit.I've seen good stuff, and well...let's leave it at that. Try more comments on others mentioning specifics. I know you are well read.
Desejoover 10 years agoAsh, you are going to make me feel old and grouchy in answering this. I think poetry a combination of inspiration and work, self questioning, and editing. Sometimes, if you are really lucky, it can come in a flash. I don't question whether something is a poem, I question whether it is as good an effort as the poet can offer for that particular poem.

HarryHillover 10 years agoPoetry IS work. ...but, there are times it just pours from somewhere inside you; that is the creative side and perhaps the most honest side of the, dare I say, craft. Some are better at paring away the thick skin that covers the apple. It just depends on how much fiber you need. :) A five for the target you painted.
