And when wisdom has failed yet again
When logic is routinely denied
And thorough examination is waylaid
Without patience to guide
Hear again a loud lack of reason
Where mind is the losing side
And madness is the laughing victor
Knowledge then sighed
As we see random come to rule

And that old bald cheater in the dark
That sand in the hourglass falling
Time standing sentinel with a keen eye
Simply waiting while stalling
Allowing decay to work for it
For erosion to give a mauling
Letting inertia wind down in the void
Letting them be appalling
As the heat death settles in

A master of reality’s fabric
Sighting stars in journal word
Spinning wind like silk from fingers
Fluttering like a bird
In fear’s lost charted maps
Gathered into silenced herd
To caravan along stardust
Traveling routes only inferred
Whispered in the space between stars

Smiling in the dark alone with hate
A violent source of fear
Hungry hands prying at barricades
Hearing a target near
Spring an ambush of fire and steel
Listen to the flesh sear
A brand upon their head in blood
Killing all that is dear
Attrition at its barbaric height

Forgotten memories in a sunken hulk
A coral tomb in the deep
Wrapped in sediment of centuries
Submerged into sleep
Weighted by time and faith
Never to let creep
Into the current an idea of recall
Or to allow to seep
A taint of the old ways abandoned

The long hidden rites of pain
And their chilling heat
The folly of hope’s incursion against
A doctrine of defeat
The forces of fear and havoc abound
Mayhem in the driver’s seat
The dogma that demands blood and bile
And enforces a routing retreat
Of fleeing peace and understanding

Man as a species in damning decay
Debased with precision
Pick apart the guiding hand of evolution
Treat history with revision
Ignoring lessons learned along the way
Pushing for annihilation
Dismantle the progress of enlightenment
And assure the finalization
Of the downward spiral into oblivion

the end of the world

i should have saw it coming

i think i did here

That sand in the hourglass falling

Time standing sentinel with a keen eye

two questions to ask yourself

what is new

what can leave out

another thing, take a walk around, see how fast it gets old.
