Feather-less flight
plummeted
like a clod of sod.

Found on the ground
'chirping'
with a hungry mouth.

A nest-less baby bird
'Martin'
in the high grass.

Carefully captured
'rescued'
with no hands scent.

Several bird nests were
'above'
which one is it's home?

Carefully calculating
four nests
only one had babies.

"In you go little bird"
'Martin'
then momma come home.

Pecked at the baby bird
'Martin'
killing him, or did I?

You must...

forgive yourself now - okay? Big hearted Art just wrote a beautiful tribute for lil' Martin and for all the world to see. I can't think of anything sweeter than that. This was totally out of context for you, but you wrote it from your heart and it clearly shows your concern in all of, and particularly with, your final words. You're such a mush, My dear friend!<smile>
