I close my eyes and see you,
your smiling face above me,
holding out my arms
you fill my memories.

I type my soul in all I print,
carrying out the words of woe,
the words I feel and the
ones I can not speak.

I give to you my heated breath,
upon your skin they'll meet.
The mold will grow and sizzle,
each whispered word I speak.

I long to touch your face, your body and your mind.
To not be with you now,
it hurts far greater
each and every time.

I look for you each day
and come to you at night,
upon a fluffy cloud
of billowing white.

I need you and you pass me,
a mist in the wind you see.
For no longer do you notice
the will inside of me.

I tremble and I quake,
with every ragged breath.
Reaching out to hold you
even upon my death.

I long to see your features
to hold you tight and warm.
To not forsake our bodies
and to never be forlorn.

I love you more then air
that my body needs to breath,
I love you more then words
that try to break out of me.

I want you to know, that with each passing day,
every passing moment
my love for you
will stay.

I shake now as I ponder
a life without you near,
and my heart it is breaking
as I sit and wait right here.

I can not come and get you.
You must be strong for me,
and pray that someday,
our love will truly be.

I give up all I have,
and keep you in my thoughts.
For each and very morning
thoughts of you are sought.

I will not forget your body,
or the words that you gave to me.
They will always be a part
of these my memories.

What's there left to say?

The more I read, the more I begin to identify with you, the ups and downs. I see a lot of my own self in the poems, and in this one my memories and ache for my ex (the first guy I ever really loved)- and I can't remember now why I left, but too much lies between us now to go back. So I actually really teared up reading this. Do you feel that way a lot, reaching for something not there, your SO not there or not caring so much? While anguish is good for our work as writers, the guy in your other poems sounds like a jerk, someone you really don't need. But so hard to pull away, right?

What can I say

DC:

I see a soul, mind, and body bleeding and hurting. What is and what could and should be are all over it. I read "Feel" and now "Memories," and you seem like a whirly gig; spinning this way and that as the wind twists and turns your mind and soul to try to find what might have been. Thank You for your willingness to lay your soul bare. Ronnie W.

For those without,

your verse rings true;

a theme I keep sensing,

through all that you have writ,

is of a pervasive

wistful longing.

Perhaps one day...
