First of all I can't stand some of these things
Outraged parents and the protesting
Believe it or not your kids signed up on their own
Proud to serve, a hero at home.

Don't belittle their memory if one should die
He boldly went forth with his fierce battle cry
He served best he could and wouldn't want your pity
He fights to protect each of us in every city.

Even if you don't believe in what's going on right now
Don't show hatred towards those who honor their vow
To protect and serve, to honor and obey
He followed orders when he died that day.

As one who served I know what our troops are feeling
Scared beyond belief but also quietly kneeling
Praying to the lord up above to bring them back to the USA
There's no reason for outrage it won't help them today.

When they return home from their tour overseas
Things will be different for them from what they are to you and me
Perceptions will be altered and quite askew
To All those Serving I say God Bless and good luck to YOU!

very well said

This is so true, especially in today's society and time. This poem can be applied to many countries, and hopefully there will always be those who stand up for their countries.
