Beneath the cold and clear
A shade with long teeth
Watches the night

Pinpoints of stars shed little light
Moving swift in the dim
Hunt the slow

Silent and sure each footfall
Closing the gap fast
Kill so near

A lunge a gasp a splash of blood
Targeting the soft throat
Tear and rend

Rip apart and devour quickly
Leave little but bones
Gone so fast

Another carcass left for morning
For ants to clean slow
Feed on death
