I shouldn’t love you
As you have no way to return
My feelings of admiration
Or appreciation or respect
As you do all the things
You were simply made to do

You could care less
About who it is that rides you
Or how long or how hard
Just so long as they know the rules
And are competent enough
To care for you and keep you well.

But you are beautiful
And it is almost sad to say
That you have treated me better
In your cold factual manner
Than any lover I have had as of late
As we ride together we make a pretty pair

I have a sad silly heart
That I follow poorly and ride too rough
As I am ever more a romantic fool
Gratitude is so often paid in love
And you are the only love I have left
That hasn’t left on its own
