One day

One day I will secure my treasure troves,
Retiring to a distant place to muse,
And leave the fields to herders and their droves,
Finding pleasure in new landscapes perused;
And if that day comes, will you then attend
To other gentlemen, rascals and fools?
And will you lean on country styles to bend
Their minds, until they subscribe to the rules
That you have learnt thus far in company,
Of one who cherished thought along with looks?
Or will you leave them to accompany
The man who mastered you, and leave such crooks
To herd women like cows, till they've ensured
That one day my sweet treasure trove's secured?

Smiles

Excellent

Lovely sentiment and elegantly and skilfully structured. Should be 'stiles' though!
