A fair weather day and clear skies
Yet we know all is not well
A scene of paradise of peace of beauty
Built on the bones of those who came before

What have we won in heavenly lands
But by blood and sweat sown deep in the soil
Our clean waters and winds run true
Through valleys and glades of corpses and suffering

Our peace and tranquility that is so abundant
Achieved with horror and slaughter in gross
Our security and serenity on fast display
Enabled by siege and plague upon our enemy

What cost peace?
What price prosperity?
How did we create our heaven?
Through waging hell?
