A face to the voice
Beyond the void
Deepening eyes
With sad stories to tell
I wish I could hear them
Wrapped up in candlelight
Fragile lines of lace
And ancient pain
Let me trace them
With careful finger
Quiet tongue
Watchful eye
Drawing smiles
On your lips
Placing light and love
Like quick liquor
To the clever tip
Of trembling powerful places
Kept secret and vaulted
Hidden away
Protect the innocent
The jealous unknowing
Promises promises promises
Mirror mirror
Can you tell
With your singular vision
What is fair
What is foul
Maybe if I know
I can make a difference
And be the man
You never knew
You needed
