You handed me words
Coated in sugar
Like a caramel apple
I took them like I was starving
Biting into them
But the words turned bitter in my mouth
I fell to the ground
The sugar coated words tumbling from my hand
I stared up at you with lifeless eyes
Realizing too late
You words were laced with poison
