Right over there,
between a rock
and a heart pace,

truth
presented the problem,
accented the panic,
resented the praise.

And as one
they raised
their cloned drone
voices to greet
a new dawn's possibilities
with the fear of defeat.

Nonplussed they buzzed,
busy bee bullies,
to re-wrap the riddle.

You saw how they fussed,
huffed, puffed and pointed
fidgeting fingers, polished nails
on old, bitter branches,
in every direction

except
right over there.

You saw the circus,
the pathetic parade,
every transparent
measure they took.

But tell me,
which way
did you look?
