I pray for the day
when we can stand before you
     uninhibited, unafraid.
I wait for the day
     when we can feel sunshine
     on naked innocent skin.

I hope every day
for a sign that you hear us
     to know you care.
I watch today
     kids playing, mom laughing
     and time slowly passing.

I pray every night
     that you will hear
     my frightened cries.
I wait for the night
when we can walk in moonlight
     as innocent children.

I hope every night
     for a sign that we
     are not forsaken.
I watch tonight
     as sins multiply
     and loneliness grows.

I pray for salvation
     I pray for a sign
I pray for revelation
I pray it comes in time.
