Remember every detail every flash of light
Every glint of metal every sound
The man posed a threat only in the loosest sense of the word

His only weapon was the small pocket knife he held
Almost two inches of dull chipped blade
But threat enough for the order to sound

OKC 3S high carbon steel blade black phosphate finish
Eight inches of thick honed razor death
Not lugged to rifle not as bayonet

Combat knife battle blade versus cheap trinket
Never fair never even like everything else there
He never stood a chance

Feel the blade slide through the neck like it was thick Jell-o
Feel the tip bite and scrape past the vertebrae
To peek out below the base of his hairline above his collar

Yanked free follow with gout of blood and gurgle
Again into the neck entering through hair
Just above where it peeked out before

Dynaflex handle ensures grip does not slip
That the strikes are true and hard no wasted energy
He never stood a chance

See his face in the dark in the light in the crowd
Another number in the hellish tally
Another face to remember in the still nights

Remember the way he slumped and choked
Remember grunting in exertion with each stab
Remember the heat the glare the red the tan

Remember it all Remember it all
Always remember the face
His face
Remember
