Incandescent waves of energy
     break over asteroid reefs,
while comets swim turbulently
     through cresting solar flares.

Black hole whirlpools send out
     gravitational riptides,
inescapable eddies that suck down
     drifting galactic debris.

Raging meteor storms
     roll with radiation winds,
engulfing billowy clusters
     of seaweed nebula.

Floating aloof among
     uncharted cosmic currents,
alien islands are swallowed
     by tsunamis of supernova light.

Oblivious to encroaching entropy,
     God voyages in silence.
Planets drift by like broken ships,
     lost and abandoned.

Weeping captain of a
     derelict universe,
the deity searches for a harbor
     of faith and devotion.

No beacon shines in hope;
     a storm of chaos approaches.
Eternity drowns in evolutionary swells.
Alone, God sails the savage sea.
