Single life... it ain't no fun
I got a single bed made just for one
A single mug in the morning
And a table for one down at the diner at night
I come home late to a dark and empty house
So lonely I could talk to a mouse
I got the singular blues
I just can't seem to loose 'em
But I can sprawl out on my bed just fine
'Cause both sides are mine
Never many dishes to do
I go to the movies anytime I want to
Chick flicks every time and the popcorn is all mine
Put my lights on a timer, got myself a cat
Not every man can beat all that.
Is this really the blues?
Maybe it's just paying my dues
When I'm good and strong I know he'll come along
It's time for me to enjoy my own company
Don't need a man just to give my love to
So many people in need, any one of them will do
Maybe this ain't the blues after all...
