Click hereIt simply gave up and died inside
You picked the silk blossom so fresh and new
waiting to unfold its petals just for you
You bought a new vase and filled it with fresh water
there it stood and waited your caress
You gave it your tears, your laughter and smiles
as you cupped it softly in your palms
The bud so sweet resting almost bigger than your hands
It stood alone for so long sharing and watching you dream
Unfolding its petals to show you its beauty
You used to gaze so lost and so long
Brushing your fingers against the soft stem
Making it dance, dip and bend It flourished and drank you in
Never letting you see anything but its pureness
it grew until one day it felt another stem slip by its side
Unmoving and steadfast it stood
it shared, it sipped and waited for your hand
Then you added another more than one
the water was shared the caresses too
Then the sips got smaller
as did the touch, the cupping of your hand
It's stood and opened so wide
its petals worn with nothing but pride
It never faltered but watched as you caressed
the others by its side as you had once done it
It knew the fresh water was not it's to sip
it stopped drinking and stood quiet its head dipping
Then one by one its petals dropped
like tears they slipped slowly over the vase
Still lost in the thought that this isn't just about a flower arrangement!
