Prayer proven useless in this age
Following centuries of horror come this decade
Where we see the clouds peeled away in rage

Shuddering earth and shaking waters
Cracking booms split the air above
Crumbling stars fall and dawn stutters

The moon tears and bleeds above us
The oceans blackened and now bitter, bitter
Rivers choked with iron blades running rust

Fear and paranoia rule the new day
As the sun begins to rot and corrode
Fighting over no chance to survive this way

Mountains shift over buckling continents
Missiles streak a black and shattered sky overhead
Nuclear fire now can leave new remnants

Ionosphere collapses and ozone stripped bare
Magnetosphere wavering as core slows to stop
All while we are all horribly terrifyingly aware

An age ended in violent evisceration and chaos
Our own doing yes but from time as well
Lamenting souls screeching to the doomsday upon us

Our fear and greed brought us here
Our power lust fed our determination fiercely
But our arrogance assured this is our final year
