My back ached as the miles rolled past
My thoughts descend right into blue
He reeled you in like lightning fast
No more of us; just me and you

You said be mine I love you true
We’ll be together come what may
Then he shows up with his old soft shoe
Guess words are cheap, that’s what they say

My bags are packed and in the car
It’s three a.m. and time to go
And you’re with him still at the bar?
You really think that I don’t know?

I leave a note, my key and ring
I thank you for the time we had
You think it’s just a little fling
Your lies and games make me so sad

I wish we could have had more time
The note, I should have said much more
Just left what’s yours, and took what’s mine
I wish you well, I’m out the door.

Again the miles go rolling past
I hope he’s what you’re looking for
Amazing love is gone that fast
I’m hurt so bad, right to my core

On the cell, hear lies on lies
I got the pictures I didn’t believe
This guy you love, well I despise
In pleasure, you now do deceive

You beg forgiveness from his bed
Won’t admit that you’re still on a date
I say why don’t you just drop dead
Too bad, too little, and way too late

Drivers license in my hand
Help me where I gotta go
Driving fast across the land
When I get there, guess I will know
