The kiss that dares

Some adverse judgements may be deemed to be
Quite prescient, when reviewed: in retrospect
For instance, with sweet serendipity,
An unexpected thought makes you reflect
At length, before you dress, lying in bed,
That just another touch might be ideal,
And, then the moment's gone, the thought has fled
To give way to concerns that have appeal
Given immediacy, though they're banal,
When taken in the round; and you decide
To wait a while and, gently, to recall
The feelings that flowed over you; they slide,
Again, into your mind, despite such cares,
And keep you waiting for the kiss that dares.
