Instinctively he knows that her laughter is a must
As necessary to her life as belief, faith, and trust
Better for healing her soul than any panacea can be
Its power can be found when her voice bursts forth in glee

A delighted little giggle at Saturday morning toons,
At making funny faces in the backs of silver spoons
At hanging upside down and swinging from the trees
At the tickling of hands, when she’s been told to freeze

When pure joy and happiness light her youthful face
He smiles all too indulgently knowing she’s happy in her place

and from what I have read of yours, this is your besr so far. Was the attempt a sonnet? I'm not very good at identifying forms, but I liked this one :)
