as their parents were killed
their eyes were burning
with unshed tears
their eyes were proud
as they walked forward
their eyes were blue,
brown, green and gray
their eyes were flashing
as they vowed remembrance
their eyes were streaming
as they fulfilled their promise
their eyes were watching
as their children took their place
and their eyes could rest.
