tonight is coming
forward rolling despite whatever efforts
I try and try and try to avoid it all
as oncoming of the rest of forever
the little bit left over
from our promises and dreams
she shattered and scattered
with her dance that does and does again
as tonight is coming

I am called to witness
she moves in evenintide dancing
undressing and redressing
as if we were never there
she stands naked
stripped of my memory
clothed in new clothes
the ones he wears as well
while I am worn out
and I am called to witness

half sick of shadows
I weave my darkess to tapestry
by day long day in ticking times
in night I unwind and wind it all
spinning as a spider silent ceiling
in stillness still and unmoving
to reinvent my shadow
be begin again tomorrow
to take the boat out to the waters
though half sick of shadows
I am called to witness
as tonight comes
