Click hereIs love the butterflies that swirl in your stomach when that person enters the room?
Or is it the smile it brings to your face when you think of being a bride or groom?
Maybe it's the soft sighs that escape your mouth as you watch your child sleep at night,
Or the laughter that comes with the happiness that makes your days so bright.
Is the true love of a person hidden in the softness of a passionate kiss
or is it exposed in the sweet whispers of the words escaping the lips?
What is true love that will endure the obstacles of time and space
and permanently embed its unforgettable mark, never to be erased?
Beautiful words, lovely poems, and passionate feeling so profound
Are not the hiding places in which true love can be found.
The deep waters of love can not be explored in a single day
Just like the fullness of the sun isn't seen in a single ray.
The rainbow only comes out after the darkest rain
And so true love can found lurking in the darkest pain.
It was true love that made God send is only son to the cross
To guide hateful people that didn't even know they were lost.
It's true love that carries a baby for three fourths of a year
And then gives it life through agony so severe.
Love is what makes sleep escape a mother at night
And keeps her praying for her children until the morning light.
It's the love of forgiveness on which friendships bind
and removes a person's flaws to which you are blind.
You see, true love isn't in the feelings that make you soar,
But is found in the pain that you're willing to endure.
Hey, after reading two of your submissions, "Selfish Spouse" and "Innocent Text Messages," this is the first poetry I've read of anybody in this LW se ection.
Great imagery and meaning.
And the fourth stanza telling of God's love in sending His Son is SO TRUE!
Great to meet up with you. 5 stars.
