Where the river bends the old man sits
Hearing the wind sough in the trees.
A boy and girl, hand in hand pass,
Pause close by to kiss, whisper of love then
Move on.

The wind still sighs in the trees.
The old man does not heed it now.
He hears a beloved voice from long ago.
Tears streak his cheeks. He quietly murmurs,
“My love.”
