It is my purpose to stop chaos
My prevention saves many a cure
A custodian of your well-being, for sure
Saving those coming to the cross
Mind love’s law or know lives lost

I’m seldom put there before the cost
Of tragic loved ones lives laid, in loss
Once public outcry demands me in
My one syllable sentry shall then begin

Colored brightly, brilliant in the day
By night, I luminously reflect the light
Stationed to insure safety on your way
Who’s right of way my task is to say

My job’s important but I can’t boast
My Silent safety can help you most
You know me quickly just by sight
Redeemed in red and worded in pure white
My octagonal sign keeps you, alright
